John J. Stewart, B.L.A., O.A.L.A., C.S.L.A., Principal of Commonwealth's Perth and Miami Offices, has extensive experience in building conservation, planning and management of cultural resources and entertainment design. A graduate University of Guelph (Canada), he received additional training at Cornell University (USA) and Oxford University (UK) and holds a diploma in the Conservation of Monuments from Parks Canada. Before Commonwealth's formation, Mr. Stewart served for four years as the first director of Heritage Canada's Main Street Program, and in this capacity was responsible for initiating, developing and ongoing supervision of downtown revitalization projects across the country. His innovative revitalization work charted a path whereby business and property owners actively participated in reviving their own communities. He is Chair of Perth's Heritage Commission, a past board member of The Association for Preservation Technology and ICOMOS. Stewart is co-author of Perth: Tradition and Style in Eastern Ontario and a contributor to Reviving Main Street.

Ian Hunter,
Dipl. brings to the team an experienced Conservation Technologist specializing in Conservation Reports of Period buildings, construction drawings and specifications. Ian Hunter has managed the building inspection components of large-scale sites including the Correctional Services Canada Regional Headquarters in Kingston as well as an assessment of fourteen period buildings in Barbados as part of a Heritage Tourism Development Study.

Annie Dalton
has over 20 years experience as a communications specialist. With a focus on heritage and cultural tourism, Annie's experience includes concept development for exhibit design, interpretive signage, lure brochures, corporate identity and promotion. Her initial research, and creative problem solving techniques provide a groundwork for innovative, impact-oriented results. The key components of her expertise are in graphic design and writing, with advanced computer skills in image manipulation and publications design software. Annie's recent experience includes conceptual planning and exhibit design, fabrication and coordination for both Pedro St. James National Historic Site and Queen Elizabeth II Botanic Park in Grand Cayman; exhibit design for Presqu'ile Lighthouse Marine Centre, Dundas Valley Visitor Centre, and Clergue Blockhouse in Sault Ste. Christopher Stewart, Designer of Commonwealth’s Perth Office, is a specialist in visual com-munication, planning and design of commercial interiors and in commercial area revitalization. A graduate of the interior design program at Sheridan College (Canada), he received a master’s de-gree in industrial design at The Accademia Italiana in Florence (Italy). He has been the designer for Commonwealth’s work in the streetscape beautification & park planning for Petawawa in the Ottawa Valley. As well, Christopher has worked closely wit the local youth organization, devel-oping the urban arts and Skateboard Park in Perth, Ontario. And working with the Perth youth centre he has developed strategies for involving youth in revitalization initiatives. Before joining Commonwealth, Christopher worked as a contractor and design consultant in Oakville, Ontario and in this capacity was responsible for design, and subsequent restoration construction of homes in Oakville’s historic lake front area.

Wendy James has 15 years of marketing experience in the film industry. With this experience she brings a wide range of skills in event planning, specialized marketing strategies and design concept. The key components in her multifaceted role at Commonwealth includes background research, thematic development and graphic design. Wendy has a strong skillset in publication design and production, carrying the project from the initial concept stage through to the printed piece. Wendy's recent projects include report production for Petawawa and Preston Streetscape Projects, Allan Gardens Heritage Conservation Management Strategy, St. Thomas Train Station Feasibility Study, Mackenzie King Estate Master Plan; and image scanning and art production for the History of Transportation Exhibit in Ogdensburg, New York

Andrew Stewart provides expertise in the digital medium. As a graduate of Seneca College, he has extensive knowledge in computer aided design, including print, web, and interactive applications. Acting as Commonwealth's computer technician, he provides technical support, both hardware and software, to all staff and is proficient in multiple software applications including Adobe Photoshop, Macromedia Dreamweaver, and Autodesk's Autocad.
